Most producers use Apple logic,Pr Tools,Cubase,Sonar,
Fl Studio.
Ableton live is a good DJ software. Reason is not really sequencer per say.The easiest one to use is Presonus studio one,logic,fl studio,pro tools.
Test a demo of each to see what you like. Some sequencers like logic run only on MAC.Fl studio,Sonar only on PC. Sequencers that run on both platforms are:Cubase,Pro Tools,Ableton Live,Reaper,Studio One.
Most producers use Mac because they give less conflicts such as latency issues and computability issues. Macs cost more than PC and not all software run on Macs.
If you planning to build PC based DAW check rain recording or adk pro audio or sweetwater creation station PC ready. Audio processing and running multiple plug-ins drain down the cpu and ram. Get at least 8gb of ram and dual /quad core cpu.

Native Instruments Maschine Groove Production Studio EDU is identical to the regular commercial version. Buyer must be a student, a teacher, or affiliated with church, school, college, none-profit organization. Student id or similar id is required for the purchase.
Native Instruments MASCHINE is a groove-box style controller and groove-production software package for Mac OS X and Windows.
