I believe the only feature you’ll miss out on with a silver account is being able to share songs on XBL. Other than that, I think everything else works. Sharing is the only “Live” feature.

There is definitely an update in progress. The update won’t contain any new loops but it’ll fix all the glitches and add some new features and interface changes.
After that we’ll be working on Drum and Bass edition and after that Pro Edition. Pro will be the one that has DLC packs, a note editor, drum pattern sequencer, synthesis and all sorts of fancy features to bring it up as close to the level of a pro music app as we can.
