I was wandering if there were any free music creating software, or maybe a software where that was like a keyboard that I could make music and then upload it on sites or put it to videos? But i’m only looking for FREE not something that has some logo cause I have to buy it for its full version. No Free Trials.
WOW! THANK YOU ALOT!!!
I have just the thing for you–it’s called LMMS. It stands for Linux Multi-Media Studio, but while it was made to work with Linux, it is cross-platform and works also on Windows. It’s very similar to Fruity Loops/FL Studio, and is very powerful and allows a great deal of creative expression, as the demos linked to at the bottom demonstrate. (It also accepts Fruit Loops/FL Studio project files, so it’s compatible.) It’s 100% free, open source, with no limitations. The authors do accept donations, however, and if you really like it, that would be a nice gesture at some point. I think you’ll love it. Have fun!
From the LMMS Website:

Please share this video with your friends. I am proud of this as I have received several great comments on it and would like others to see it.

I had fun with the music in “The Co-operative Environment v1″ video so I decided to expand it and add some quotes from a screenplay I have written called “The Demon’s Ki”. “The Voice of Belial” refers to one of the main characters, Belial, a demon who manipulates people with lies to get them to commit acts of violence. The quotes you hear are phrases that Belial uses in the story..
This video was made using Music Creation Software. All editting, mixing and vocals were of my design. Some images were also recorded by me.
All footage not of my creation in this piece have been deemed public domain and royalty free. No copyright infringements were made in the course of creating this video.

The new “stretch to tempo” feature in Record 1.5 (AUDIO+MIDI) and Reason 5 (MIDI only) means that it’s easier than ever to take a WAV loop off your hard drive and bring it into your session - quickly employing Record’s excellent stretch algorithm along the way. In case you’re new to waveform editing and sample stretching, this week I’ll show you how it’s done. It’s easier than you may think and the production possibilities become vast.

I’m buying a new laptop to run Traktor Pro through the Numark Omni Controller. I plan on using this for live sets (DJing), so I’m depending on it to be 110% real-time without hiccups, lags, or crashes. I’ll be using this laptop solely for audio (mixing, editing producing, live performance) I will only have a few mixing software programs, editing programs, production/recording programs, iTunes, as well as internet installed on this new laptop. (however, Audio Production Software can be quite large considering the ridiculous amounts of simulators, controllers, and other plug-ins that accompany them) Basically anything and everything I use when it comes to music. The rest of my crap (pictures, games, msc. software, all other non-audio related items) will be on an external drive (500GB) as well as my other laptop (2GB RAM / 75GB hard drive …yea …it’s fairly outa date)
as of now, I have only about 5k songs on my external hd (500GB) …along with a shitload of pics, vids and other random stuff …all together it’s only taking about 20% of the 500G external. …however, once I get my new laptop, I’ll deff be doing more shows/weddings/parties etc… so I will surely be picking up a good handful of music.
——————>My question (preferably to a professional, who uses live mixing/editing software, as well as stores all his/her audio files on their laptop while performing) is what do you suggest I put down my funds for?
I’ll be running an Intel Core i7 on the new laptop (why not? only $200 more than the i5 which they’ve just about maxed out already) …but my real decision lies on weather I should stick with the "in-house" storage of the 320GB hard drive and go for the 8GB RAM …or weather I’ll be fine running live with just the 4GB RAM and should go for more in-house storage with the 500GB hard drive?
(it’s best to stay far away from lugging around external HDs while performing if possible)
or even if you’ve run 110% fine with just a 320GB in-house hard drive and with 4GB RAM ..or even less than that?
Whatchya say?
Much thx*
Stay Up*
if your only using 20% space of a 500, 320 will obviously be fine.
between 4 gig and 8 gig of ram, u only need four.
if your looking at the future, go with the 8 gigs of ram, then you have your base start.
later on you can just get a usb 1000 gig hard drive for probably 50 bucks by the time you need it, hard drives drop in price a lot faster than the ram.
if you want to see a hard drive that is completely nuts in speed check out ssd youtube it, its a hard drive made out of ram, no moving parts. i own one windows 7 is fully loaded for me in 15 seconds.thats on a 3.0ghz dual core e8400. also ssd drives are way better to have in a laptop because if you shake a traditional hard drive with moving parts enough it will stop running.
where an ssd you can drop it and it should still be fine. i know this for a fact because the store manager dropped my friends ssd on purpose and told my friend if it dont work ill give you it for free. they are very expensive. but very worth it.
if you dont need need the computer badely right now, i would strongly suggest to wait, because the i7’s are going to be a thing of the past with the new lga2011 motherboards and new processors comming out in dec/jan. as well ati 6xxx series graphics cards.

I’ve seen bands that have took phrases from family guy maybe 3 seconds of what the character says then they start playing their music. What software did they use to do this?
